Interests/Areas of Expertise: We can provide consultation to health providers (including training) so that they are prepared to address the health and mental health needs of GLBTQ youth; and create a health provider-patient relationship that is respectful of and sensitive to diversity in sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity, resulting in better quality care.

Rural Experience: Some. Our current activity program for GLBTQ youth (STRUTS) primarily attracts youth from rural areas. The project director of the Center for Research, Training, and Consultation on GLBTQ Youth Issues worked as a school psychologist in rural schools and has supervised school psychology interns in rural schools. One team member has extensive social work experience in rural communities. I am the coordinator for the Center for Research, Training, and Consultation on GLBTQ Youth at CMU. I am the key contact person: preva1rm@cmich.edu or struts@cmich.edu. My office is in Sloan 130 and I can be reached at 989.774.7270.

Student Involvement: We are interested in projects for undergraduate and graduate students. Availability: Lead time for planning purposes will depend on the project. We are available all year.

Fee Structure: Expenses and/or Limited Fee.
