CMU Traditions
|
|
 |
Central Michigan Normal School was founded in downtown Mount Pleasant on
September 13, 1892, as a small college committed to training teachers. By 1918,
the school had become a four-year public college with 450 students attending
classes in five buildings at the current campus location. While many things
have evolved since the time Central Michigan University was known as the Normal
School, some traditions have remained timeless. This area of the website will
take you through some of CMU’s oldest and newest traditions. All students have
the opportunity to participate in these activities, so jump right in! The
following offices and departments of the University can help connect you with
these opportunities.
