Michael Papa: Evaluating successful
peace negotiations

Communication
Michael Papa, communication and dramatic arts department professor, has been working with President Jimmy Carter, Nobel laureate, to strengthen the evaluation process of peace negotiations and to help stimulate new thinking about world peace.

Approach
As a consultant to the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Papa has documented President Carter’s approach to negotiating peace with a focus on the settlement reached between Uganda and Sudan. He has interviewed high-level politicians, ambassadors, ministers, and military representatives and will present his research to President Carter and the Carter Center board.
