Microsoft Campus Agreement

CMU has entered into the Microsoft Campus Agreement, which provides the general Microsoft productivity software for all desktop computers on campus.

This Agreement is is renewed annually on August 1st. [Also see the Microsoft Campus Agreement Software Distribution Policy for information that supersedes information presented here.]

Office Use

Obtaining Microsoft Software
Faculty and staff can obtain Microsoft software in the following ways:
  • College or Department Technician/DCSC Representative - If you work for a department with a local technican or technician group, contact the Help Desk to facilitate your request to install software on your office machine.
     
  • OIT Technician - Contact the Help Desk to have an OIT technician install the software on your office machine. There will be a nominal fee if you choose this option.
     
  • Configuration Manager (formerly SMS) - Software can be delivered electronically to some campus Windows machines through Advertised Programs. Contact the Help Desk to verify that the software can be delivered to your campus machine.

Work at Home Use
(Current Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees Only)

Available Microsoft Software Titles (Work At Home Media)
The following software titles are currently available through our Agreement. The Campus Agreement grants you the option, “during the term of this agreement to run the most current version, or any previous version of the software.” During the term of this agreement when new versions of the software release, you have the automatic right to deploy those upgrades.

Work at Home Use Rights

Microsoft has redefined their Work at Home Rights. These rights allow current faculty, staff, and student employees to use a copy of the software for work-related purposes on a personally owned machine. All software listed may be used on home machines.
