Angela Hernandez, a junior from Allen Park, is the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship. She is pursuing an interdisciplinary major in Integrative Public Relations and an interdisciplinary minor in Leadership. She plans to graduate in May 2010 and hopes to work in corporate Public Relations.

Ben LaMothe, a 2008 graduating senior from Bloomfield Hills, was recently honored with the Chair’s Award for Outstanding Achievement by the Department of Journalism at its eight annual awards luncheon. Ben is majoring in journalism with a news-editorial focus and an interdisciplinary minor in European Studies. He hopes to attend graduate school this fall at City University London to focus on electronic publishing. His professional goal is to practice journalism in Europe.

Jennifer Thelen, a senior from Shepherd, plans to dedicate her professional life to making a difference in the world by connecting people with natural and cultural resources. Jennifer is majoring in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration and will earn interdisciplinary minors in Natural Resources and Museum Studies. She plans to work a few years as a frontline interpreter at a national park, state park, or nature center before attending graduate school.
