Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)

Faculty International Development Seminars
CIEE's intensive (1 to 2-week) seminars are hosted by leading academic institutions abroad and feature lectures by esteemed academics and specialists from public- and private-sector institutions, coordinated study tours, and numerous opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues from the host countries. Participants return to their home campuses eager and enthused to incorporate their experiences abroad into the development and revision of courses with a global focus; to enhance student and faculty exchanges; to further personal research; and to develop links with overseas institutions and faculty counterparts.
Seminar destinations are throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Seminar themes are as diverse as the destinations and provide participants with the opportunity for critical analysis of the economics, politics, public policy, history, religion, health, culture, indigenous issues, and/or social issues of a specific country or region. In order to facilitate an interdisciplinary exploration of these themes, individuals from all academic concentrations are encouraged to apply.
