November 3,2009
The CMU Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred near Pearce Hall on Monday, November 3, 2009 between 8:45 and 9:00pm. Investigation revealed that a female victim was assaulted by an unknown suspect. No serious injuries resulted from the assault.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'5" tall, wearing a blue hoodie, blue or black pants and black shoes. The suspect may have sustained some injuries to his face or neck area.
The CMU Police Department is seeking contact from possible witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the assault as well as anyone that has information as to the identity of the suspect in this case.

The Central Michigan University Police are investigating multiple incidents involving Damage to Property and Larceny from Motor Vehicles. These incidents occurred in CMU lots 1, 52, 63, and 64. They are believed to have occurred between Thursday, 10/29/09 at 10:00pm and Friday, 10/30/09 at 8:30am. These incidents involve the breaking of several vehicle windows, with thefts of stereo equipment and electronic items also being reported in some cases.
Anyone observing suspicious behavior in any of these lots during the evening hours of 10/29/09 into the morning hours of 10/30/09 is asked to contact the CMU Police Department.

The Central Michigan University Police are investigating two separate burglaries that occurred on the 6th floor of Cobb Hall between the evening hours of 09/02/09 and the afternoon hours of 09/03/09. Investigation revealed that one Apple IPod was taken from the first location and an Apple MacBook Pro computer was taken from the second location. No signs of forced entry were found during either investigation.
The CMU Police would like to remind everyone to store valuable items in a safe location, document serial numbers of valuables, and to lock residence hall doors when you leave.

The Central Michigan University Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in Woldt Hall during the early AM hours on 8/21/09. Investigation revealed that a residence was entered and a wallet, cash, and other personal items were stolen. No signs of forced entry were found during the investigation.

In reference to the recent breaking and enterings which occurred at Warrinier Hall, the CMU Police have arrested and charged a 52 year old Mt. Pleasant man.
Donald Lee Morrison was arrested on 7/23/09. He was arraigned on 7/24/09 and was charged with one felony count of conducting a criminal enterprise, two counts of felony breaking and entering and three counts of felony larceny in a building. The charges included crimes that occurred both on CMU's campus and at locations within the city limits of Mt. Pleasant. Morrison faces a combined potential sentence of 52 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
The CMU Police would like to thank the faculty and staff in Warriner Hall and the officers of the Mt. Pleasant Police Department for their assistance and cooperation in this investigation.

The Central Michigan University Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in Wightman Hall. The investigation revealed that a computer lab was entered and several IMAC computers were taken. No signs of forced entry were found during the investigation. This report initiated on 7/15/09, however, the date/time of the crime occurring is unknown.

The Central Michigan University Police are asking for help from the community regarding a recent theft of CMU Property.
On June 11, 2009, CMU Police were called to investigate a larceny from Finch Fieldhouse. The investigation revealed that a Carolina kayak was stolen from a storage area sometime between June 9 at 5:00 pm and June 10 at 8:00 am. The kayak is blue in colorand14.5 ft long. The CMU Police are investigating a Criminal Sexual Conduct incident that occurred in the early morning hours of 6/5/09 in Kesseler Hall. The investigation is currently open and active with interviews being conducted. The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim and the CMU Police have not received information that would indicate further danger to the CMU community.

On 02/08/2009 at 2:33 AM CMU Police were called to Herrig Hall regarding a complaint of arson. Officers investigated an incident were a paper on the wall in the first floor hallway was set on fire. The paper extinguished itself and did not cause the alarm to activate. The paper was charred and minor damage was caused to the wall outside of a residence hall room.

Drug investigation nets 15 arrests
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich., Jan. 16, 2009‑ The Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET) and officers from the Central Michigan University and Mount Pleasant Police Departments arrested 15 people Thursday evening in Mount Pleasant on felony drug charges. Two of the arrests occurred on campus while the others were made at an off-campus apartment complex. Two other individuals are still being sought.
The arrests are the result of an investigation into narcotics related complaints in the mid-Michigan region. Several arrests have been made prior to last night's arrests and more are anticipated.

Once again, on Thursday evening, September 4, 2008, there was an attempt to enter a, 1st floor residence hall room, in Larzelere Hall and steal a lap top computer, by cutting the screen window from the outside, the suspect was scared away and nothing was taken.
SUSPECT:
Black male, approximately 5' 9" tall, 18-25 years of age, thin build, wearing a dark jacket, dark undershirt, blue jeans and carrying a dark colored backpack.

On Friday, March 14, 2008 at 1:15 a.m. in Cobb Hall on the Central Michigan University Campus, a suspect threw a three inch clip knife at two subjects in the hallway. No one was injured or struck by the weapon. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.

On 1/25/08 between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm, CMU Police responded to two separate reports of Burglary/Home Invasion. These incidents occurred in Calkins and Robinson Hall.
In each of the investigations it was determined that the suspect entered unlocked dorm rooms and took electronic items. In one of the incidents a resident of the room was home at the time of the incident.
CMU Police are currently looking for two male suspects in conjunction with this investigation. The first suspect is described as a white male with darker complexion, 18-21 yrs. old, approximately 5'10 - 6' tall, wearing a bright colored ball cap, hooded sweatshirt, plaid designed shirt, blue jeans, and carrying a backpack. The second suspect is described as a white male, 18-20 yrs. old, approximately 5'8" tall, wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
