Rights and Responsibilities - Student Code
Students who violate city ordinances may also be subject to discipline under the student code of conduct. The disciplinary code is devoted primarily to on-campus issues, but certain violations of the law within Mount Pleasant will also be handled by CMU. For example, students found in violation of the student code for participating in an off-campus civil disorder or violating the terms of a court injunction prohibiting mass gatherings will be suspended from the university. In addition to the link above, the complete code is found in the back of the CMU Bulletin and in the student handbook.
Students should become familiar with the code and with university residence hall policies, which are available from the housing office.
