Living and Learning Communities
Our Living and Learning Communities are made up of Residential Colleges and Theme Halls.
Residential Colleges
In an effort to integrate the use of all of our campus resources in the education and preparation of the whole student, we join with faculty members in several departments to offer the following residential colleges for the 2012-2013 academic year:
- College of Business in Calkins Hall www.cba.cmich.edu
- College of Education and Human Services in Sweeney Hall www.ehs.cmich.edu
- College of Health Professions in Emmons Hall www.chp.cmich.edu/hprc
- College of Science and Technology in Woldt Hall www.cst.cmich.edu
- School of Music in Herrig Hall www.mus.cmich.edu
Residential Colleges offer students the opportunity to share not only a residence hall but also classes, programs and study opportunities. Each community has a spirit all its own, but all residential colleges provide an environment in which students are surrounded by friends with whom they achieve mutual success.
Theme Halls
In addition to Residential Colleges, several halls are also home to students who have a common interest or are recipients of a specific scholarship. These include:
- First Year Learning Community in Trout Hall
- Global Village in Herrig Hall
- Honors Program in Larzelere Hall www.cmich.edu/honors
- Leader Advancement Scholars in Barnes Hall www.cmich.edu/cmulead
- Multicultural Advancement and Lloyd Cofer Scholars in Troutman Hall www.diversity.cmich.edu/mss
- Public Service Residential Community in Barnes Hall www.rso.cmich.edu/bhc
- Sports Management Living Community in Saxe Hall
- Transfer Student Community in Kulhavi Hall
Note: Residential Colleges and Theme Halls comprise one or more floors of a residence hall, so students who do not have an interest in a specific academic program may still apply for these halls.
