Study Abroad Scholarship Essay Writing Workshop

Explore your strengths, brainstorm ideas, and get a head start on writing your essay for study abroad scholarship applications. The CMU Writing Center will hold a workshop for students who want to apply for study abroad scholarships. In the workshop, participants will discuss expectations, share tips, generate ideas, and begin a draft of their essay. There will be some time for questions and individual feedback at the end of the session. Attend, enjoy, and leave with a working draft of your application.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Fall 2010 and Summer 2010 Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 6, 2010
This scholarship is offered through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education. Applicants must already receive a Pell Grant. Selected by competition, recipients are awarded up to $5000 to defray the costs associated with studying abroad. For eligibility, application deadlines, and application instructions, please visit their website at www.iie.org/gilman.
