What criteria must I meet in order to apply to the Honors Program

If you are applying as a high school senior you must meet the following criteria:

  • 3.6 cumulative high school grade point average and ACT of 25 or higher

If you fall short of the above requirements you may request special consideration by submitting the Honors Program Application form, your writing sample, and a statement describing the special circumstances and/or supporting evidence of academic promise which you believe qualifies you for admission to the Honors Program.

If you are applying as a current CMU student or a transfer student, you must meet the following criteria.

  • 3.5 cumulative college grade point average

    When is the deadline to apply?

    • The deadline to apply to the Honors Program is March 1, 2010
    • Transfer and current CMU students can apply throughout the year

    How soon will I hear my admission decision?

    • The Honors Program will review all applications after March 1, 2010. Successful applicants will be notified of their selection by March 5, 2010.
