Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic


Central Michigan University secondary teacher education students now have a unique opportunity to live and learn in the Dominican Republic. The program is set around Santo Domingo, the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic, students will explore secondary classrooms and schools as well as areas that include the Colonial Zone, Boca Chica, La Cuerva, coral reefs of the south coast of the island nation, jungle forest habitats, the national aquarium, the heritage museum, and much more. And the Perks Gain global awareness through a short-term international experience Learn more about urban and multi-cultural school settings Study secondary classrooms in the Dominican Republic through observation and teaching. 

During their time in Santo Domingo, students stay in pairs with host families. This home stay includes all meals and provides students with a unique cultural opportunity. The price of room and board is included in the overall program cost.
