Central Michigan University elementary teacher
education students have a unique opportunity to live, learn and teach in
Oaxaca, Mexico. Students participating in this program will enhance
their global perspective and gain valuable experience working with
children in a bilingual school system — all while earning CMU course
credit during the summer 2012.
The program takes place over five weeks during the summer.
Group meetings and daily seminars in Oaxaca will be used to
prepare teaching activities and to process learning experiences.
Students will participate in several cultural field trips as well as
have free time to explore the vibrant life of downtown Oaxaca City,
located in the blocks that
surround our main lodging area, which has been noted for its
cultural richness and history.
Students will gain global awareness through a short-term international experience and learn in bilingual school settings.
