Carmen BurlingameCarmen Burlingame wins 'Best Paper'
October 15, 2012

We are proud to report that Ms. Carmen Burlingame won the award for the “Best paper by an Undergraduate” and received the award at the 2012 Michigan Political Science Association annual meeting. Andrew Knapp

Andrew Knapp awarded Potthoff Scholarship
October 2012

MPA student Andrew Knapp recently was awarded the 2011-2012 Edward H. Potthoff Jr. Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Knapp is an MPA student at the Mount Pleasant campus. He received his B.S. in Political Science from CMU in 2010. He is completing an internship as a Startup Manager at the Kalamazoo Area Building Authority. His career interests are in city management, program evaluation, and organizational theory, and he is conducting research on public sector organizational culture.

 

 

 

 

  


Jeff StoutenburgJeff Stoutenburg awarded Greene Scholarship
October 2012

MPA student Jeff Stoutenburg recently was awarded the 2011-2012 Barbara P. Greene Scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Stoutenburg is an MPA student at CMU's Global Campus East Lansing location. He is a 2006 graduate of Cass City (MI) High School. He received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies from Central Michigan University in 2010. He began working as a legislative aide in the Michigan House of Representatives in 2009 and began his current job as a legislative analyst with the House Fiscal Agency in 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

 

MPA student Maddie Jaxs won a scholarship from AmeriCorps to attend the 40th Annual Council of Michigan Foundations and Michigan Nonprofit Association SuperConference, "Strong Partners for a Strong Michigan," October 8-9, 2012.
