Neithercut Woodland has a world of sights and sounds for you to enjoy. Named after William Neithercut, the unspoiled 252-acre natural area is located a short 30-minute trip north of Mount Pleasant on M-115, just west of the US-10 junction.

Providing opportunities for formal and informal nature studies, this tract includes mixed hardwood forests, a stream, and wetlands habitats suitable for both aquatic and terrestrial studies. Neithercut Woodland contains miles of marked nature trails including a quarter-mile "Freedom Trail," which is a hard surface, barrier-free, easily accessible area for those with disabilities. The College of Science and Technology makes the woodland available to students and faculty for education and research. We also have a special interest in facilitating access for K-12 students and encourage use by the general public.

Neithercut Woodland provides a treasure trove of opportunities to see wildflowers, plants, and animals in a great variety of habitats. We invite you to come visit, walk slowly, and listen to nature's lesson.
