 What GEARUP means to me..........

 

I am a MSS scholar working out of the MI GEAR UP office as an assistant, mentor and volunteer, which has greatly impacted my life both personal and professional. I became involved with GEARUP, with the need to give back to the community by becoming an asset to students and by helping them realize their college potential. Through-out my years with GEARUP, I've gained so much and grown as a person, gaining many friends and life values. Thanks to GEAR UP I differ from my freshman self tremendously as I have gained so much self confidence and leadership skills. I believe it is in a students best interest to acquaint themselves with GEARUP and as soon as possible , not only for the volunteering opportunities but because they can grow so much as an individual by being here.
