CMU”s School of BCA offers one of the country’s largest electronic
media programs. As you explore your
career options, consider these key components that distinguish CMU’s electronic
media curriculum:

Radio experience at BCA’s two HD stations: contemporary rocker WMHW-FM (91.5) and Album
Adult Alternative Mountain 101. In addition to their over-the-air presence in
Mid-Michigan, both stations are streamed worldwide at www.wmhw.org.

Television involvement at MHTV (campus channel
34 and community channel 97); BCA’s 24-hour a day cable station that features a
wide array of entertainment and sports programming.

News opportunities with News Central, MHTV’s one hour live nightly newscast serving three
counties.
·
Film production work on both short and
feature-length projects through Central Premiere Productions.
·
Recording industry exposure in Moore Media
Records (MMR), BCA’s own record label that produces, promotes, and distributes
the creations of local and regional musicians.

Webcasting and related new media enterprises in
Multimedia Digital Design (M2D2), BCA’s multimedia development, design, and
production laboratory.

Film exhibition management activities through
The Film Society.
·
Professional development and networking through
campus chapters of the National Broadcasting Society/Alpha Epsilon Rho
(NBS/AERho), the Radio Television
Digital News Association (RTDNA), and the Alliance for Women in Media (AWM).
