1.  Application Deadline

The application deadline for our May 2014 DPT Program is October 1, 2013.

 

2.  PTCAS Application

ALL applicants must apply using PTCAS, an online application service. The PTCAS student portal will launch on Monday, July 1, 2013, for the 2014 Application Cycle. To access the PTCAS student portal, log on to: www.ptcas.orgNote:  If you apply prior to the July 1, 2013, launch date, your information will be deleted when PTCAS updates their system for the 2014 Application Cycle.

3.  Supplemental Application and Fee

ALL applicants are required to submit our Supplemental Application and Fee.  The Supplemental Application MUST be downloaded and completed on your computer, as it will automatically calculate your prerequisite GPA.  Include ONLY those prerequisites required by our DPT Program.  Mailing and fee instructions are noted on on the last page of the spreadsheet.  Note:  Not yet available for the 2014 Application Cycle.

 

4.  Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

ALL applicants are required to take the GRE, and ALL GRE scores must be sent directly from ETS to PTCAS - DO NOT send your paper GRE scores to CMU.  CMU's new program code is 7751 Central MI U PTCAS, and the department code/name is: 0619 Physical Therapy.  

ETS will list all institution and program-specific GRE codes in its online and printed code publications and in the computer-based test package. The  PTCAS web site will also list program codes.

5.  (International Students Only) ECE, WES, or Josef Silney and Associates, Inc. Requirements

Coursework taken at international institutions must be evaluated by ECE (Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.), WES (World Education Services), or Josef Silney and Associates, Inc. Official transcripts and an official course-by-course evaluation must be sent directly to The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, HPB 1212, Mt. Pleasant, MI  48859.  Students from English-speaking countries are exempt, e.g., Canada, England, Australia, etc.

6. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

 Prospective students who are not citizens of a TOEFL-exempt country must submit a satisfactory test score on the TOEFL or IELTS. Score requirements: 79 or 6.5 on the TOEFL/IELTS for regular admission, 61-78 or 5.5 and 6.0 for conditional admission. 7.  I-20

International students are required to submit to CMU's College of Graduate Studies an I-20 Affidavit/Statement of Support Form, along with evidence of financial support.  For more information, please reference the Graduate Bulletin.
