Thank you for your interest in the Health Professions Residential College at Central Michigan University. You will be notified whether or not you are accepted at the address you provide below. Acceptance means you will be assigned to Emmons Residence Hall for fall semester and will be expected to meet the standards and requirements of the program.

All interested students must:

  • Complete an online Housing Application through the Office of Residence Life before final acceptance can be made to the HPRC
  • Indicate their interest in the Health Professions Residential College in Emmons Hall under "Housing Preferences"
  • Complete this additional application below to be considered for this living-learning community in Emmons Hall.  The application deadline for the 2013-2014 year was April 29, 2013.  Please fill out the application if you wish to be added to our waiting list.

Before you complete the application below, please note the following information:

  • The second and third floors of Emmons Hall are reserved for health professions students. If you were hoping to live with a friend, that friend would also need to apply for the HPRC and agree to meet the same requirements to live in this special learning community.
  • If you are accepted into the HPRC, your preferences will be matched as closely as possible within this smaller pool of residents.

1. Briefly describe your career goals and why you want to become a health professional. What undergraduate major do you plan to pursue at Central Michigan University?
 
2. The Health Professions Residential College focuses on the values of Community, Leadership, Academics, Service, and Scholarship (C.L.A.S.S.). Please choose two of these values and describe a past personal experience related to each and how you feel you would contribute to supporting these values.
 
3. Why do you want to be a member of the Health Professions Residential College? How will your participation in this program and upholding the values listed above help you reach your career goal(s)?
 
4. The mission of the HPRC is to develop ethical leaders for the health care field. Maria Razumich-Zec said, "Your reputation and integrity are EVERYTHING. Follow through on what you say you�re going to do. Your credibility and reputation can only be built over time, and it is built from the history of your words and your actions." As a future health care professional, your reputation and your integrity are critically important. Please write a brief but thoughtful reflection on what it means when you give your word or make a promise, and why this is important to maintaining a safe, respectful livinglearning community.
