​Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program

The PSC department continually participates in the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship program. This program allows distinguished students from under-represented areas across Eurasia to attend schools within the United States to complete their graduate level degrees.

Our first Muskie scholar arrived in 2011 from Russia. Participation from Muskie scholars in our graduate program enriches their personal scholarly endeavors as well enhancing the diversity for our students, faculty and staff.

The PSC department continues to recruit international students in order to enrich all programs offered in the department.

Adam Sampiev

Adam Sampiev is from the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. He has a BA in International Relations from Kainar University, Astana, Kazakhstan. Through the Edmund S. Muskie Fellowship Program, he is pursuing an MA degree in Political Science at Central Michigan University. Before coming to CMU, he worked for local and international NGOs in the Russian Federation for more than 6 years implementing variety of projects in health, education, peace-building, youth empowerment, human trafficking, and humanitarian assistance. During the last year of his employment, he was a member of Regional Disaster Management Team in Middle East and Eastern Europe.
