Make a Pitch (the Chippewa Pitch) is a business elevator pitch competition conducted by the CMU Isabella Bank Institute for Entrepreneurship (IBIE) and designed to give you an opportunity to test your business idea.  You could earn up to $500 seed money for your business.

Every business starts with an idea.  That idea needs to meet a need in the marketplace.  Everyone has ideas – have you ever said “I wish someone would create a ……”?  Make a Pitch gives you the opportunity to pitch YOUR idea to others to see if they think you have something to pursue.  And, you could earn funds to help you pursue it!

A business “pitch”, also known as an elevator pitch, is a simple distillation of your idea.  For example:
  • What is your product or service?
  • How will you make money?
  • Why is your product better than anything else out there?
  • Why will people love it?
Make a Pitch is open to all CMU students.  The only requirement for entry is to submit a ONE PAGE typed summary of your product or service by 5:00 pm on Monday, April 1st to the IBIE, Grawn 164.  The selected finalists will give their pitch to an experienced panel of judges on Thursday, April 4th 2013 at 5 p.m. in Grawn 150G.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to find out if your business idea is a worthy one, and take your chance on earning $500 to get started.

For more information contact the IBIE in Grawn 164 or call 989-774-3270.
