The Central Michigan University Police Department is committed to providing the campus community with quality police services. Our staff is trained in criminal law, investigations, traffic enforcement, tactical intervention, and community policing.
CMU police officers are certified under Act No.120 P.A. 1990 by the CMU Board of Trustees, and as deputy sheriffs of Isabella County. We maintain highly trained personnel available to respond to situations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The CMU Police Department provides emergency telephones, an anonymous tip line and other services to assist the campus community. The employees of the CMU Police Department assist Central Michigan University by providing a safe environment that will facilitate the educational process. Our programs are communicated on a regular basis to the faculty and staff, students and the CMU community through crime prevention programs, brochures, and frequent citizen contacts.
