Welcome to the 2012-2013  School year!

We are currently in Year 2 of our grant cycle and are working with 8th graders through graduation in 2017. The grant opportunity is designed to help first generation and low-income students prepare for college success. MI GEAR UP program serves more than 1,200 students in five schools with the goal of providing information and encouraging students to graduate and go on to college prepared to succeed.
 
The program goals are to:
  • Educate GEAR UP students and families on the importance and accessibility of a college education
  • Provide academic support and guidance to make college enrollment and retention achievable
  • Increase student and family capacity to make college affordable, allowing students to enter the collegiate process and leverage financial options.
