Group Fitness (Yoga/Pilates)
Responsibilities
Position Overview: To develop and lead yoga classes that utilize safe and effective movements.
Major Duties: Ensure safety of participants by understanding general signs and symptoms of physical exertion; general knowledge of exercise recommendation principles; ensure safety of participants by reporting any facility problems; answer questions regarding routine movement and another related exercise concerns.
Minor Duties: Responsible for appropriate use of all aerobic related equipment; maintain up-to-date information on current aerobic trends and movement.
Qualifications
Experience required: Individuals who have prior experience teaching Yoga/Pilates classes. (preferred). Must be comfortable in front of groups; appreciation of individual skills and diversity of class participants; ability to provide a positive environment free of discrimination for all class participants.
Certification Requirement: Adult, Child and Infant CPR and Standard First Aid (American Red Cross –preferred); National Certification (preferred). YOGA – Yoga/Pilates certification (required) Yoga Fit certification preferred. Note: Once an interview has been arranged you will need to come prepared to teach a 20 minutes routine for YOGA. Each routine should include warm-up, cardio and cool down. You will also need to provide your own music.
