Job Summary: Provide clientele with one-on-one assistance with
their exercise program.
Major Duties: We are looking for qualified and passionate
individuals to join our Personal Training team. Candidates must have completed
HSC 220 (HSC 420 desired) or a transfer course equivalent. If hired, new
Personal Trainers are put through a mentor process and will have 6 months to
get a nationally accredited Personal Trainer Certification. This position is
responsible for the design and monitoring of exercise programs for one-on-one
clientele as well as group clientele, assisting clientele with setting
appropriate lifestyle goals, performing fitness assessments communicating
promptly and effectively with clientele, and displaying skill in asking for the
sale.
Minor Duties: Developing and carrying out exercise programs with
individuals as well as groups, performing exercise demonstrations, performing
fitness assessments, maintaining well-organized documentations on client
progress, spotting clients in the performance of resistance training exercise.
Relationship: Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness, Assistant
Director of Residential Fitness, Graduate Assistant of Fitness/Wellness, and
Program Coordinator of Fitness/Wellness
Certification Requirement: Adult and Child CPR, AED, and Standard First Aid
(American Red Cross- preferred), Right to Know training, and National
Certification in personal training must be obtained within the first six months
of employment.
Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, spotting, walking, running,
squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, laying (prone/supine), must
be able to lift 50 lbs.
