Travus Burton brings a diverse work history and educational background to assist faculty with service-learning initiatives supported by FaCIT. Travus recently worked as a graduate assistant conducting research and assisting with other special projects for CMU’s Department of Educational Leadership.
Over the summer 2010, he served as assistant director for the 2010 North American Indigenous Summer Enrichment Camp offered by CMU’s Office of Native American Programs. Travus previously was a case manager employed with Capital Area Community Services in Lansing. Travus is focused on assisting faculty with the development of engaging academic service-learning opportunities.
He is passionate about creating mutually beneficial service-learning partnerships that provide services to the community and beyond while connecting students with experiences that will affect them academically, socially and intellectually.
