In order to best serve both individual faculty members and their students, FaCIT has moved to a cohort model of "clicker" training. The innaugural cohort ran during the Spring semester of 2012.
Each semester, ten faculty members are accepted into a new user cohort. Participants work through the process of understanding the pedagogy, course (re)design considerations, and technical training as a group over an eight week period. During this timeframe, the faculty are eligible to check-out loaner kits to use in their classroom at no cost to the students or departments. Upon completion of the new user cohort, these faculty are granted access to a semester long loaner kit for the next semester.
A call for participant proposals is offered prior to the start of each semester. Keep an eye on our web site, blog, social media, CMU Today and All Faculty emails, and other forms of communcation in order to be informed in regards to the proposal deadlines.
