This is an example of a well-defined rubric, in this case for hybrid instruction from the California State University – Chico site. It lists three levels of hybrid instruction, describes five criteria (activities, learning objectives, assessment strategies, instructor feedback and peer feedback) and outlines three levels (baseline, effective and exemplary) for each criteria. The descriptions are clear, concise and helpful.
Grading Rubrics are amazingly helpful for speed and consistency in grading. The following site, Rubistar, was developed with grant funding (so it’s a public, free technology) and has many resources to assist you in quickly building a rubric of any type for any discipline.
