Faculty/Staff Bios - Neil Blake
blake_neil.jpgNeil Blake joined the Central Michigan University faculty in 2012 and is a part-time instructor. He holds a bachelor of science degree in journalism from Central Michigan University and works at the Midland Daily News as a staff photographer.  He also freelances for national publications, including the Wall Street Journal.  He completed internships at the Concord Monitor, in Concord, N.H., and at The Herald, in Jasper, Ind.  

As a student at CMU, he placed first in the Michigan Press Photographer Association college photographer of the year competition and was the first journalism student from CMU to intern in at Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.  He was also a semifinalist in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program photojournalism competition.  As a professional, he has been honored by the Michigan Press Photographers Association, Indiana Press Photographers Association, Associated Press and the National Press Photographers Association.
