I have over 15 years experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level in the areas of psychology and counseling. As a counselor educator I have served as the president of the Michigan Association of Counselor Education and Supervision 2007-2008. I am currently the chairperson for the Michigan Counseling Association's Public Policy and Legislation committee. I am a member of the Michigan Counseling Association (MCA), Michigan Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (MACES), American Counseling Association ( ACA), American Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) and Chi Sigma Iota. The areas in which I teach are assessment, career development, ethics, counseling children, counseling techniques, lifespan development, addiction counseling and practicum.
My research interest are, persistence of first- generation students, the role of personal counseling in student retention, and the professional development of new counselor educators.
