About Distance Learning Classrooms

Telecommunications, Social Networking, and the Internet have changed the way we communicate and share ideas. However, it is also evolving the way we learn.

The distance learning classroom, EHS 230 in the Education Building, is a room dedicated to sharing lectures, ideas, and conferences between colleagues, companies, and students in different parts of CMU, The US, and the World. Using Polycom Teleconferencing and Videoconferencing systems, we can connect to different schools and companies, hear and talk to different places, and share computer screens and power points through Polycom's network.

Lectures from this room can be shown to high schools making higher education available in a K-12 curriculum facility.

From the cameras that follow your movement throughout the front of the room, to the classroom audience cameras, to sharing podium media across the videoconference, the distance learning classroom is one of the most technologically advanced classrooms on CMU's campus.
