Dr. Holly Hoffman is an Associate Professor in the
Counseling and Special Education Department. She earned her Ph.D. in Early
Childhood Special Education from Oakland University. Her research focuses on
inclusive practices, the development and impact of humor, leadership, and
pre-service teacher professional development.
Dr. Hoffman enjoys teaching courses in Special Education
focusing on the overview of special needs and diversity in the classroom,
accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and issues in early childhood
special education.
Dr. Hoffman's background includes working with young
children in inclusive early childhood settings, collaborating with families,
and supporting student teachers. She advocates for young children and families
as she completes state and national workshops and presentations, and is active
in the Council for Exceptional Children, Division of Early Childhood, and the
Association for the Education of Young Children.
