Benjamin P. Jankens is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Educational Leadership, College of Education and Human Studies at Central Michigan University. He earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, and has a M.A. in Education Administration from Central Michigan University, and a B.F.A. from Saginaw Valley State University. Dr. Jankens teaches EDL courses in the areas of School and Community Relations, Organizational Change, and Leadership Theory. His research interests include a broad array of educational reform and policy issues in the K-12 setting. Prior to joining CMU, Dr. Jankens served in various teaching and leadership roles, including principal, superintendent, and Assistant Director for the Governor John Engler Center for Charter Schools.  Dr. Jankens is considered a national expert on charter school operations and performance, as well as authorizing practices.
