Brooke's Dream at Children's Hospital of Michigan
Central Michigan University students from a variety of programs
including Child Development, Interior Design, Family Studies and Honors
recently partnered with Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit to
re-design hospital rooms to provide a more cheerful and bright
environment for children.The project "Brooke's Dream" was completed in memory of CMU alumna
Brooke Wise, who passed away in an automobile accident in 2010.
"Design For Good" Service Learning Course
Eight Honors students enrolled in HON 321G: Design for Good took part in the relocation and design of the Coe Township Library in Shepherd, Michigan. The library moved from it's current location, which was 900 square feet, to a more spacious 4,000 square foot building. The students were responsible for various elements of the project, including: minor demolition work, space planning, finish selection, painting, installing flooring, and much more. The class was taught by Interior Design instructor Sue Bowlby.

CMU Student Design Competition/Exhibition
The goals of the event were to showcase a "New Fresh Look at Decorating with Antiques," to help promote the use of antiques by younger generations, and to emphasize creativity, affordability & sustainability. Shelterhouse Teen Room
