Industry Partnerships - Malden Mills

Malden Mills, the makers of PolarTec fabrics, challenged the students in AMD 447: Functional Apparel Design to come up with ideas for utilizing their innovative electric textiles powered by lithium batteries. Malden provided the fabrics and materials and the students developed 14 prototypes from snowboarding jackets to wearable accessories. The HEATME SCARF was developed by students Michele Palmatier and Sarah Bokor. It is a 4-way reversible scarf that can be heated for the wearer's thermal satisfaction.
