Early Childhood Development and Learning (B.S. in Ed)

The Early Childhood Development and Learning Major for elementary education focuses on the interdisciplinary study of children from birth through age eight within the context of teaching and working with children in educational settings. Students who complete this program may take the Michigan Early Childhood Examination, which results in the addition of the Early Childhood (ZS) Endorsement to the student's K-8 teaching certificate. The ZS Endorsement is required for employment in Michigan Public School Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) preschools.
