This study abroad experience is a service learning program, where students provide direct services to children in Oaxaca under the supervision of CMU faculty members. Students work in an albergue (children's shelter) or in an after school program for children in a neighborhood center. Service includes both planning educational activities and direct care for children. Students also volunteer to help with physical improvements (e.g., painting, gardening) of the facilities that provide services to children.
