The Education and Human Services
Residential College (EHSRC) is committed to provide the highest quality
educational experiences to support exploration and discovery among future
education and human service leaders. In the EHSRC, students explore emerging
ideas, engage in research and create connections with others who share a
commitment to enhancing life and learning. Through the courses and shared
experiences, students expand their understanding of self and the issues facing
our increasingly diverse and complex world. Field experiences, internships,
service learning opportunities, and study abroad programs enhance the college's
professional programs. Our residential college provides another opportunity for
pre-professional students to work collegially with fellow students and faculty
from their particular fields of study.
Students who participate in the EHSRC
achieve more. Since the EHSRC started in 2005, students who participate in the
EHSRC consistently take and complete more credit hours with great success. When
compared with other similar students, EHSRC students have significantly higher
grade point averages, enjoy more educational opportunities, demonstrate greater
confidence and leadership ability, participated in research with faculty,
engaged in more civic and community service opportunities, studied abroad, and
graduated in less time.
