Central Michigan Advantage

Michigan - a state for sports and recreation and an invaluable asset for the CMU Sport Administration Program. Best known for its world-famous professional and minor league sport franchises, Michigan offers a wealth of sport experiences all within a few hours' drive from our campus.

From great minor league fun with the new Beach Bums baseball team in Traverse City to pro baseball, basketball, hockey and football in Detroit, Michigan is a great sports state.

Head north and to the Upper Peninsula for skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, dog sledding and more. Check out city hockey leagues and golf tournaments, or great bike trails and races, or head for the Michigan International Speedway to hear the engines roar in the Irish Hills.

You can find extreme or not so extreme participatory sporting events here! Michigan offers more freshwater coastlines than any other state; scenic nature preserves filled with rare species of wildlife; high-energy spectator and participatory sports; unique cultural, educational and historic attractions; out-of-this-world technology; retail, antique and boutique shopping; nightly entertainment options; and a wide range of dining options create one of the country's most amazing destinations.

Photo Tour of Campus

Close to home. Convenient. Not too big. Not too small. Beautiful. Just right. That's how visitors describe our campus. Most of our students tell us these features were important in their decision to choose Central Michigan.
