Marion Croft Althoff Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student majoring in English with the intent to teach.
- Undergraduate students
- Must be recommended by an English faculty member familiar with the student's work
- Award can be used for tuition and room and board
- Based on financial need

Scholarship awarded to a student majoring in English with the intent to teach English.
- Undergraduate students
- Must be nominated by an English faculty member who is familiar with the student's work
- Preference to juniors and seniors
- Based on scholarship, financial need and probable teaching success

Reverend Lloyd C. and Ica L. Bronson Memorial Award
Scholarship awarded to full-time English majors completing their junior year.
- Junior or higher standing
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Must show documented work with minority groups (ethnic or gender)
- Women, persons of color, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply

Award Amount: Up to $1,000
Jeanette R. House Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to an English literature major entering senior year.
- Incoming seniors
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must submit two letters of recommendation and an essay about why you want to study literature
Scholarship is nonrenewable

Award Amount: Up to $1,500
Francis J. and Mary Lois Molson English Education Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to an English major or minor pursuing secondary education certification.
- Undergraduate student
- Minimum 3.25 overall GPA
- Must demonstrate academic excellence

Award Amount: Up to $1,000
Kenneth W. and Margaret Cuff Saunders Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to an English, journalism or physics major. This scholarship rotates in a two-year cycle between the English, journalism and physics departments.
- Junior or higher standing
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Must be nominated by a department faculty member who is familiar with the student's work
- Award can be used for books and tuition
- Scholarship is renewable if a minimum 3.5 GPA is maintained

John E. Warriner Scholarship
Several scholarships awarded annually to students majoring in economics, English, foreign languages, history, journalism, philosophy, political science, religion, speech or sociology.
- Junior or senior standing or regular admission to graduate school for fall semester
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
- Based on financial need
Deadline: mid-March
Award Amount: $3,000
John P. and Ann S. Jensen Scholarship*
This scholarship is offered through the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation Scholarship Program.
Demonstrated academic ability with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Declared major of architecture, interior design, music, art, or literature
Parents or guardian must reside in Isabella County
First time applicants must be going into junior or senior year of college or be accepted to a graduate program
Financial need is not a factor
The following individuals are NOT eligible:
Members of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation
Scholarship or scholarship advisory committee members
Primary donors to the Scholarship Program
Foundation staff
How to apply: Application is available on the Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation website, www.mpacf.org.
Include a one-page essay regarding your educational plans and how they relate to your career goals and why you merit this scholarship.
Include two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member who is familiar with your work).
