Angela Riedel has been in the museum field for over 12 years. She began her career in museum collections management at the Michigan State University Museum while working on her BA in History of Art at MSU. She then went on to work at the National Museum of Ireland in 2000 first as a Documentation Assistant, then as an Assistant Registrar. While there Angela was in charge of a 40,000 object collection at NMI's only out-of-Dublin branch, the Museum of Country Life, which opened to the public in 2001. She was instrumental in moving 95% of the Folklife collections from its former storage facilities located 100 miles away to the newly built on-site museum storage facility.
In 2005 Angela became the Collections Manager for a two-year IMLS grant project to document the objects and structure of the historic Booth House & Gardens at Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In February 2008, she was hired part-time by the museum of Cultural and Natural History as Project Manager of the Collection Management Initiative. Her title Changed in October 2008 to Collections Manager and Instructor (Museum Studies). Angela received her BA in History of ARt in 1997 from Michigan State University, a Higher Diploma in Celtic Archaeology from University College, Dublin in 1998 and a year later her Masters in Archaeology from the same institution.
