Undergraduate wins best student presentation award at Geological Society of America meeting

CMU senior Leah Cooperrider, an Earth Sciences major and geography education minor, was recently recognized with a Best Paper award for her oral presentation at the 47th annual meeting of The Geological Society of America's North-Central Section.

 

GEO 531 class work to be included in upcoming Mount Pleasant master plan update

The city of Mount Pleasant will update its master plan later this year and the work of nine CMU students will be included. Assistant professor of urban planning, transportation and human geography Xiao Guang Wang and the students in GEO 531: Integrated Land Use Planning, were tasked by city officials to analyze newly released census data and complete an analysis and write-up of their findings.
