Finishing his Ph.D. with Jeff Saven in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania.
How CMU prepared him for his career
“I consider the chemistry department at CMU to be a real diamond in the rough. There is an extremely knowledgeable and talented faculty there, and every one of them would go out of their way to help make sure that you understand the material to the maximum extent. Presenting difficult challenges, especially exams and laboratory reports definitely prepared me for graduate school at a top five university.”
One piece of advice
“Whether you’re considering entering the workforce or obtaining a graduate degree, consider doing multiple independent studies in the subfields of your discipline. The experiences can be both eye-opening – finding out that you either “love it” or “hate it” – and life-changing.”
