Friends of Neithercut Woodland is dedicated to preserving the values of this 252-acre woodland located just 30 minutes north of Mount Pleasant and ensuring its availability to visitors, students and faculty for education and research. As a member of this group, you can make recommendations to the College of Science and Technology for the protection and use of the unspoiled natural area.

The college is committed to offering K-12 students and the general public access to Neithercut Woodland, which provides a treasure trove of opportunities to see wildflowers, plants and animals in a great variety of habitats. The woodland also contains miles of marked nature trails, including the half-mile Freedom Trail, which is a surfaced barrier-free area that’s accessible for people with disabilities.

The volunteer and financial support available through Friends of Neithercut Woodland provides CST needed help in responding to the increasing costs of maintaining the four trails and coping with exotic species such as autumn olive.
