What is the Future Alumni Association?

The Future Alumni Association (FAA) at Central Michigan University is an organization for students, run by students. Our mission is to connect students past, present, and future. Together we foster spirit, tradition, and pride throughout the university, while building meaningful relationships between students and alumni. Our goal is to provide activities and programs to CMU students that can assist in their development as leaders, scholars, and future alumni who are proud to wear maroon & gold.

Who We Are

We are "alumni in training". All CMU students are eligible to join. As future alumni, we promote events and leadership to our peers and classmates, along with educating the importance of philanthropy and staying connected to their alma mater after graduation.

Leadership, dedication, and most of all, Chippewa pride are some of the qualities we look for in our members. FAA members have time to provide input on programs and create new and exciting opportunities for students to connect with peers and alumni for years to come!

What We Do

Our group of student leaders help to plan signature programs and events throughout the year for both the members of FAA and the university. These programs are designed for all students to get involved with our alumni and to continue Central’s traditions! Students are involved with:

  • Tailgates prior to athletic events
  • Past & Present Luncheon
  • Attending formal dinners
  • Leadership retreats
  • Young Alumni Networking events
  • Events with the President of CMU
  • Community involvement​​​
  • Social events, such as bowling

Being a member of FAA will benefit you in many ways. As an FAA member, you will have the opportunity to:

How Can I Become A Member?

All current CMU undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to be a part of FAA and joining is one of the first steps to becoming a Chip for life! Applications are available online. While we accept applications all the time, selections will be made at the beginning of each semester.
