Q: May I join the CMU Gold Membership program if I am not a graduate of CMU?
A: Yes you can! The Gold Membership program is for “alumni and friends” of Central Michigan University. “Alumni” includes both CMU graduates and those who attended CMU, while “friends” means donors, fans, advocates, parents, and so on, anyone who has an interest in supporting the university.
Q: How do I join the Gold Membership program?
A: Very simple. You can join by calling us at 1-800-358-6903. You can also join online right this instant. Or you can call us to request our membership application and either fax it to us at (989) 774-7159 or via mail. Please allow approximately two weeks to receive the information.
Q: What does it cost to join?
A: There are a variety of membership types and payment plans available. Click here to view our current membership options.
Q: How many members do you have right now?
A: Currently about 2,744 from an overall alumni database of 170,000 worldwide.
Q: What benefits do members receive in addition to the magazine?
A: Well for starters; you can receive a 20% discount at the CMU Bookstore and SBX on clothing and souvenirs, 25% discount at Pearle Vision, and various discounts on entertainment tickets including tickets for the Palace of Auburn Hills and the DTE Music Theater. For those who love to travel you can receive discounts such as; up to 20% discount on standard room rates at about 1,400 hotels, and enjoy discounts from 5-30% on rental cars from various rental car agencies. Q: Do you provide opportunities for CMU alumni and friends to serve Central Michigan University?
A: Plenty of opportunities. You can help with student recruitment, in legislative advocacy, serve as a volunteer in a regional club, constituent association or the National Alumni Board, and so on.
