Alumni Gold Scholarship
The Alumni Gold Scholarship is a competitive one time only scholarship for children and grandchildren of CMU graduates. The scholarship is awarded annually to up to three recipients ranging in value of $500-$750 per award. “Generations of families have passed on the CMU tradition to their children and grandchildren and we want to help celebration this special relationship” says Marcie Otteman, director of alumni relations. Recipients of the scholarship must be incoming freshmen or transfer students. The Alumni Association Board of Directors selects the winners annually from the applicant pool. Last year over 400 students applied for the three scholarships.

Charles L. and Mary Fisher Anspach Scholarship
Established in 1994 in memory of Central’s distinguished fifth president Dr. Anspach and his wife Mary. Dr. Anspach served the university for 20 years. This competitive one time only scholarship is open to a CMU sophomore, junior or senior student with a 3.0 or higher grade point average. The scholarship is awarded annually to up to three recipients ranging in value of $500-$750 per award.

Student Alumni Association Scholarship
This one time only award was established in 1981 for full time junior or senior active in student organizations, a member of the Student Alumni Association, a United States citizen and who has a minimum grade point average of 3.0. The scholarship is awarded annually to up to three recipients ranging in value of $500-$750 per award.

CMU Alumni Chapter Awards
The Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Great Lakes Bay Region
Alumni Chapters each support scholarships for students from their geographic
region. These scholarships are supported by funds from golf outings hosted in
the chapter’s area. This competitive scholarship is available to incoming
freshmen and transfer students. The scholarship is awarded annually to up to
three recipients ranging in value of $500-$750 per award. The deadline to apply for the CMU Alumni Chapter Awards is March 15 of every year.

Alumni Legacy Award
The Legacy program is available to all out of state admitted undergraduate students whose parents or grandparents are CMU Alumni. The program is currently valued at over $50,000 and is equal to the difference between in-state and out-state tuition rates.
