Isabella Bank has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to CMU by developing and maintaining a strong relationship with the university’s Mount Pleasant campus.
The bank has helped launch students’ careers by providing internship opportunities and recruiting graduates for career opportunities. It also has developed long-term academic involvement programs, like providing residency-practicum opportunities. Isabella Bank fosters mentoring programs between the bank employees and CMU students.
Isabella Bank has provided funding for scholarships and fellowships and has created an endowment for scholarships for CMU students far into the future. Contributions from the bank also have provided significant funding of faculty research. The bank continues to help provide the university with major equipment and other in-kind donations, reaching the Pinnacle Club status as a contributor.
Isabella Bank officials have supported CMU functions such as athletics programs, career services activities, CMU Public Broadcasting, Michigan Story Festival and alumni programs, and they were instrumental in founding the Perry School of Banking at CMU. Bank representatives and members of the board of directors have served on several university boards and committees including the CMU Board of Trustees, the Board of Governors of the Clarke Historical Library, the CMU Development Board, the CMU Research Corp. board, the presidential search committee and the Opus committee.
