In providing higher education leadership in
Canada for more than three decades, Dr.
Robert A. Gordon has forged a successful
partnership with Central Michigan University
that has led to more than 1,200 CMU alumni
at 16 various colleges in Ontario.
Dr. Gordon served as president of Dawson
College for six years and of Humber College
for 25 years. Working with what today is
CMU’s Off-Campus and Online Programs, he
developed a master’s program for faculty
and staff in community college studies. The program continues to grow, and his
college is in its 23rd cohort.
In addition to initiating the program, Dr. Gordon served as a professor and
guest lecturer. He is a vital supporter of CMU and has been actively involved in
leading the advisory committee that ensures the program remains relevant and
meets the Provincial Quality Assessment Board guidelines. He also has provided
resources and guidance to a GradNet initiative, which encourages CMU alumni
in Ontario to continue to make educational contributions.
Dr. Gordon was appointed president emeritus at Humber College upon
retirement and continues to work with CMU as an adjunct professor and
chairman of its program advisory committee.
