Mary Lou Hazleton, MA '86, is a devoted supporter of CMU who serves on the development board, as well as the capital campaign advisory committee for the College of Communication and Fine Arts.
She is a retired speech-language pathologist and has been a longtime advocate for the university.
Mary Lou and her husband, Richard, supported the New Vision of Excellence campaign by establishing named endowments in three of CMU's colleges: the College of Communication and Fine Arts, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, and the College of Business Administration.
They also are ardent supporters of the CMU Biological Station on Beaver Island and the effort for CMU to acquire the boathouse on the island. They have hosted CMU events in their homes in Midland and Charlevoix, and last year they planned and hosted an event for the Friends of Beaver Island.
